On Art

"Only through art can we get outside of ourselves and know another's view of the universe which is not the same as ours and see landscapes which would otherwise have remained unknown to us like the landscapes of the moon. Thanks to art, instead of seeing a single world, our own, we see it multiply until we have before us as many worlds as there are original artists."  Marcel Proust

And, that is the Power of Art.

With this in mind, look outside your own views and try to see the world as others see it. Whether through art, music, literature, or poetry. A greater understanding of the world and yourself is in store by trying to look through another's eyes.

Finally took my last Final!

YAY! This semester has officially come to a close! I'm so excited! It was definitely a demanding semester with Noteworthy and my senior thesis, but I survived and I'm soooo happy! Now just finish up my German class in the summer and I will officially be a College Graduate! I feel like I'm kind of cheating because I'm walking on Friday and I don't officially graduate until August but it's all good, I'll be done soon enough! So here's to the end of school!!!!! Happiness.....

Almost....there.

I'm frustrated because I can't bring myself to study for my last final...I'm so ready to be done! But alas I must study and I must do well, so farewell to my blog for the rest of the day. Goals: No more facebook for today, no more checking email, study for 3 solid hours and then tomorrow take the final and then...FREEDOM!

To My Sisters in Noteworthy...

Over? Wait, no that can't be right. But it is. Noteworthy is officially over for the year. We sang our last song this morning in my Relief Society, how fitting that it was "How Great Thou Art." I feel so overwhelmed and so thankful that my loving Heavenly Father provided the opportunity for me to sing, laugh, perform, cry, and share the truth of the gospel with these eight amazing ladies this year.

I can't believe what an incredible year we've had. It's definitely been a roller coaster but in the end aren't all roller coasters soooo worth it? In this case yes indeed it was. I've learned so much, not only about performing but about who I am and also about the power of music. This lesson has been reinforced numerous times this year on occasions when we performed in LA at the Sing-Off, in Oregon at the ICCA quarter finals, and every time we sang the hymns. I'm so grateful for all I've learned! Thank you girls for all you've taught me, love you!!!

a·pol·o·gy - a written or spoken expression of one's regret, remorse, or sorrow for having insulted, failed, injured, or wronged another

Dear two or three people who read my blog,
I apologize for my webomeltdownventingsessionmania yesterday...I am better now. :) I figured out a plan, I'm taking German 202 at BYU during summer semester, kind of messes with some summer plans but at least I will get my degree. I'm excited to have the madness of school behind me, however I do want to say how grat
eful I am to be receiving the education I am. I love BYU and I'm grateful for everything I've learned here. I know that everything is working out how it's supposed to be, and for that I'm also grateful. I'm sorry for not being grateful yesterday, but I am better now. :)
And this is how I feel today...

It's a much better feeling.

an·gry: feeling or showing anger or strong resentment

So, you know when you think the clouds are parting and the sun is shining and you are about to exit the tunnel [the tunnel in this case being the death trap of school] and then all of a sudden your plans just fall apart and it looks like you won't graduate after all? Oh wait, yeah that was today. Great. I was planning on taking my German 202 course from SLCC this summer because we'll be living in Draper until we move to NY in August. Well SLCC posted their summer catalog today, and turns out German 202 isn't being taught....fantastic. Soooo now, well I guess I'll figure something else out but for right now this is how I feel about school...

Or this

I'm hoping to soon feel like this:

I'll be sure to let you know when and if that happens.
